Willow Glen Partners is proud to have saved the Pasinetti House from demolition in 2007. Now being designated a Los Angeles Historic Cultural Monument, the Pasinetti House is a Case Study era mid-century modern masterpiece from one of the 20th century’s most notable modernist architects, Romania’s Haralamb Georgescu.

Commissioned in 1958 by the celebrated Italian writer Pier Maria Pasinetti as his U.S. residence and featured in the January 1959 issue of Arts & Architecture Magazine (alongside CSH #21), this extraordinary house has undergone a sensitive rehabilitation under the watchful eyes of the city's Office of Historic Resources and the Getty Research Institute who has acquired the archives of the architect from the Georgescu family.

Designed specifically for entertaining, the house was the setting of countless legendary parties given by Pasinetti (aka "Passion-etti") for his distinguished friends, including Cary Grant, Gina Lollobrigida, Ingmar and Kabi Bergman, Gio and Giulia Ponti and politicians and dignitaries from both the U.S. and Italy.

More recently, the Pasinetti House was featured in an exhibition in Bucharest in May 2008 celebrating Georgescu's centenary (see photo gallery).  Originally photographed by Robert Cleveland, it will be photographed by his friend Julius Shulman in early 2009.

Mid-century and Case Study restoration specialists, Design Plus Construction (d+Con), was the architect and builder.

Special thanks to our corporate sponsors Oldcastle Glass, DuPont, Walker Zanger and Modernica for their generous support of this project.
